The “Mobility Matters” Program is meant to alleviate some of the stress experienced by patients and their families caused by inadequate transportation and mobility methods. Both programs are funded by fellow patients, their family members, friends, benefactors and other volunteers who work with ALS Ride For Life.
ALS Finding A Cure We Care (ALSFAC) and Leandro P. Rizzuto Foundation announced
ALS Ride For Life is one of the Mobility for All Grant Recipients awarded in January.
ALSFAC awarded grants to groups for their contributions to the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) community in 2022.
Wheelchair Accessible Vans
Accessing wheelchair-accessible transportation can be difficult, and purchasing a van is a costly endeavor. Without these methods of transportation, many face great difficulty with activities that we may take for granted, such as going to the grocery store, accessing healthcare or visiting with family and friends.
ALS Ride For Life provides temporary exclusive use of wheelchair accessible vans to our PALS. (Terms and conditions apply).
Please note that availability varies based on what is currently on loan and our recent donations.
Please note: due to logistical concerns this program is only available to PALS located on Long Island, NY and neighboring areas.
To apply, please complete the online application
